Tot-ality Action Group Overview
The Tot-ality action group is a comprehensive set of Drafts actions for working with the Tot application by the Iconfactory.
There is certainly some overlap between Tot and Drafts, both serving as places you can capture and store text, but some people find different use cases for each. The two applications can cohabit and even be complementary to one another, especially when you have easy ways to shuttle text back and forth between the two applications. Supporting such things is what this action group aims to do.
Terminology
Note, in this content, and the action names and descriptions, I have used the term “tot” as the note or content available within a Tot dot. You may be used to referring to them as dots, notes, jots, or tots. As long as you know what is being referred to (which is hopefully pretty obvious anyway), then we’re all good.
Features
- Display some information about the Tot-ality action group.
- Create a draft from the content of a Tot dot (choice, or specific Tot dot).
- Create one draft from all of the Tot dots merged together.
- Create one draft from each of the Tot dots with content.
- Replace the selection in the current draft with the content of a Tot dot (choice, or specific Tot dot).
- Replace the selection in the current draft with all of the Tot dots merged together.
- Prepend/append the current draft with the content of a Tot dot (choice, or specific Tot dot).
- Prepend/append the selection in the current draft with all of the Tot dots merged together.
- Move the content of a Tot dot (choice, or specific Tot dot) into a new draft (Tot dot is empty afterwards).
- Move tall Tot dots into new drafts (all Tot dots are empty afterwards).
- Create a Tot dot (choice, or specific Tot dot) from the current draft (selection/content).
- Replace the content of a Tot dot (choice, or specific Tot dot) from the current draft (selection/content) - i.e. no prompt to overwrite.
- Prepend/append a Tot dot (choice, or specific Tot dot) with the content of the current draft (selection/content).
- Move the content of a draft in to a Tot dot (choice, or specific Tot dot) and archive/trash the draft afterwards.
- Clear a Tot dot (choice, or specific Tot dot) of any content.
Important
Please note that a subset of the actions in this action group are destructive by design - e.g. ones intended to clear the content of a tot. Please ensure you enable the appropriate backups and use this action group responsibly. You are responsible for managing your data and ensuring that should you accidentally trigger an action you did not mean to, or an action ends up having a bug that causes a loss of data, that you have suitable backups to allow you to restore the data.
